The Boardroom
Our Story
Build Better LA™ was born out of personal tragedy—our founders are Malibu locals who lost their homes in the Woolsey Fire and watched as friends and family were displaced by the Palisades blaze. Experiencing the devastation firsthand ignited a passion to do more than simply rebuild. We wanted to reinvent how communities prepare for and respond to wildfires, focusing on resilient design, innovative technology, and hands-on expertise.
We started with a single goal: help our neighbors protect what matters most. By combining our local knowledge, engineering insights, and a drive to innovate, we developed solutions like Roof Sprinklers LA™—a proactive fire defense system designed to guard homes before the flames arrive. Over time, our services expanded to include comprehensive construction, cost modeling, and site evaluation, all rooted in the belief that safety and sustainability go hand in hand.
Today, Build Better LA™ stands for community, collaboration, and hope. We’re more than a construction company; we’re a team of advocates, problem-solvers, and neighbors committed to building a stronger, safer future for everyone who calls Southern California home.

A visionary co-founder of Build Better LA™, Jean Fabrice Brunel brings 25 years of international building experience from Europe to California. His blend of European design finesse and Californian resilience fuels his commitment to creating sustainable, fire-resilient homes that protect and empower communities.
